Ingredients
- 150 grams Basmati rice
- 400 grams Goat meat, cubed
- 1 large Onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves of Garlic, minced
- 200 grams Tomatoes, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Cardamom
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Cloves
- 50 grams Raisins
- 50 grams Ghee
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 tablespoon Coriander, chopped
- 300 ml Water
Method
- In a large pot, heat ghee and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for a further two minutes until fragrant.
- Add the goat meat and brown it on all sides, stirring occasionally.
- Mix in the chopped tomatoes, cumin, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, salt, pepper, and turmeric. Stir well and let it cook for 5 minutes.
- Add 300 ml of water, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 60 minutes, until the goat meat is tender.
- In a separate pot, cook the basmati rice with 300 ml of water and a pinch of salt for about 15 minutes, until the rice is tender.
- Once the meat is tender, add the raisins and chopped coriander. Stir well and let it cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve the goat and spice mixture over a bed of basmati rice and garnish with additional coriander.
