Serves: 2, Difficulty: Expert

Preparation and Cooking Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 beef steaks (250 grams each)
  • 4 slices of ham (100 grams in total)
  • 4 slices of bacon (80 grams in total)
  • 4 slices of mozzarella cheese (100 grams in total)
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced (200 grams total)
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise (60 grams)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 soft rolls (200 grams in total)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)

Method

  • Season the beef steaks with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steaks for around 3 minutes on each side. Remove and let rest.
  • In the same skillet, add bacon slices and cook until crispy. Remove and let drain on paper towels.
  • In a new pan, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Cook the eggs sunny side up until the whites are set.
  • Slice the soft rolls in half. Spread mayonnaise on the inner sides of each roll.
  • Layer each roll with lettuce, sliced tomatoes, ham, mozzarella cheese, and crispy bacon.
  • Place the steak on top of the layered ingredients, and then top each sandwich with a sunny side up egg.
  • Serve the Chivito Sandwiches warm, with the top half of the rolls placed on the sandwich to complete the dish.

Tips

  • For a uniquely enhanced flavor, consider toasting the soft rolls slightly before assembling the sandwich.
  • Adjust the seasoning according to taste, and add extra pepper for a slightly spicy kick.
