Ingredients
- 200 grams of smoked ham, thinly sliced
- 100 grams of Gouda, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of dijon mustard
- 4 pieces of whole grain bread, approximately 50 grams each
- 50 grams of pickles, sliced
- 200 grams of shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 50 grams of butter
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Method
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil to the skillet and toast the whole grain bread slices until golden and crispy, approximately 2 minutes per side. Set aside.
- Spread a thin layer of dijon mustard on each slice of toast. Top two slices with smoked ham, followed by Gouda slices, and finally the pickles. Close the sandwiches with the remaining two slices of toast.
- Heat the skillet over medium heat and toast the sandwiches until the Gouda melts and the sandwiches are golden on both sides, approximately 3 minutes per side. Set aside and keep warm.
- In the same skillet, add the butter and minced garlic. Sauté until the garlic becomes fragrant, around 1 minute.
