Serves: 2, Difficulty: Easy
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 4 sausages
- 150 grams mushrooms, sliced
- 4 slices of bread
- 2 medium potatoes, cut into chips
- 4 eggs
- 1 can of baked beans
- 10 grams olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 tsp olive oil for mushrooms
- 1 tsp olive oil for eggs
Method
- Preheat your oven to 200°C. Toss the cut potatoes with 10 grams of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Spread them on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden and crispy, turning halfway.
- While the chips are baking, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 tsp of olive oil and cook the sausages until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 10 minutes. Remove and set them aside, keeping them warm.
- In the same skillet, add 1 tsp of olive oil and the sliced mushrooms. Sauté them with thyme and rosemary until they are tender and golden, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Toast the bread slices until they are crispy and golden. Set aside.
- Heat another 1 tsp of olive oil in the skillet and fry the eggs to your desired doneness, typically 3 minutes for sunny-side up.
- Warm the baked beans in a small saucepan over medium heat until they are hot.
- Plate the sausages, mushrooms, chips, eggs, toasted bread, and baked beans. Serve immediately and enjoy your splendid English breakfast.
Tips
- For a gluten-free version, choose gluten-free bread.
- Add a pinch of chili powder for a spicy twist.
