Serves: 2, Difficulty: Expert

Preparation Time: 15 minutes, Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 200 grams of cooked rice
  • 150 grams of chicken, diced
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 chili, finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of ground coriander

Method

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and shallots, and sauté until fragrant.
  • Increase the heat and add the diced chicken. Cook until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
  • Push the chicken to one side of the skillet. Add the eggs and scramble until cooked.
  • Mix in the cooked rice with the chicken and eggs.
  • Pour in the kecap manis, soy sauce, and add the ground coriander. Stir until the rice is well coated and heated through.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the green onions and sliced chili.
  • Season with salt to taste. Serve the Nasi Goreng hot.

Tips

  • For a smokier taste, allow the rice to sit in the pan without stirring for a few minutes to create a crispy bottom layer.
  • Garnish with additional chopped green onions or sliced chili for added freshness and heat.
