Serves: 1, Difficulty: Intermediate

Ingredients

  • 150 grams beef mince
  • 1 potato
  • 1 bap (bread roll)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 2 pickled cucumbers
  • 1 lettuce leaf
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Peel and cut the potato into thin slices, then toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread the slices on a baking tray and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • In a bowl, combine the beef mince with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Mix thoroughly and form into a patty.
  • Heat a skillet on medium-high heat and cook the beef patty for 4-5 minutes on each side until thoroughly cooked.
  • While the patty is cooking, thinly slice the onion and pickled cucumbers.
  • Lightly toast the bap in the skillet until golden brown.
  • Assemble the burger: Spread mustard on both halves of the bap, place the lettuce leaf on the bottom, followed by the beef patty, onion slices, and pickled cucumbers. Top with the other half of the bap.
  • Serve the burger with the crispy potato slices on the side. Enjoy your meal!

Tips

  • For extra flavor, marinate the beef mince with the spices and vinegar for 30 minutes before forming the patty.
  • Make sure the skillet is hot before adding the patty to ensure a good sear and flavor.
  • Customize the burger with your favorite additional toppings, such as tomatoes or avocado, ensuring they meet your dietary needs.
